Raffle Rules - Spring 2018 onwards
- There is NO LIMIT to the number of raffle prizes you can bring - but each prize must be made up to the value of AT LEAST £1.
- There is no limit to the number of raffle tickets you can buy at each meeting.
- You will be given a special Golden Ticket for each £1 value (or part thereof over the first £1) of your prize(s). The Golden Tickets are only available to those who bring raffle prizes and are not for sale - though you can, of course, buy all our other coloured tickets!
- All Golden Tickets will be eligible to win our cash-rich Spot Prizes!
- Please write your full name clearly on the back of each raffle ticket - we call all winning tickets by NAME not number! Then fold each ticket in half, ensuring your name is not visible, before placing in the raffle drum.
- You do NOT need to write your name on the back of the PINK tickets for the Lucky Postcard & Envelope Draw or any charity raffle we may hold as the winners are called by number not name.
- Please check your products and ensure that there is still time to enter the promotion and that the closing date has not already passed!
- If details of the promotion are not visible on the packaging - eg where a purchase is required but entry is via an online or text route not detailed on the product itself etc - please attach details of the promotion including HOW TO ENTER, details of the PRIZE and the CLOSING DATE along with your receipt.
- In the case of on-pack promotions, please ensure that the competition or draw is not a “Swipe To Win” promotion which can, in effect, only be entered at the till point at the time of purchase.
- We do not accept magazines or any other publications.
- For the avoidance of doubt, we DO accept items running a comp or draw but which do not require purchase for entry (NPN). Please check your prize carefully to avoid disappointment. We appreciate that some people prefer to choose a product where purchase IS required for entry.
- We cannot, under any circumstances, accept ANY frozen or chilled items due to Health & Safety regulations.
- No prizes will be accepted without the relevant till receipt - even if it is not required for entry.
- Please attach the till receipt to your prize with Magic Tape (as opposed to Sellotape) to avoid tearing or damaging the receipt or, better still, put it inside a clear plastic pocket/bag with all the relevant details visible and attach that to your prize.
- All prizes brought to the table must be in excellent condition and the product must be running a current prize promotion. Half-eaten food products will not be accepted...!
- When your name is called as a winner, please only take ONE prize per winning ticket.
- Buy your raffle tickets early as at some of our busier meetings, we might be running more than one raffle throughout the day.
- If your raffle prize offering is deemed to be unsuitable for the table, there will be a valid reason and the decision of the Committee Member concerned is final.
- And finally…
- Some people will always win more prizes than others. Our raffle is drawn completely at random by a Committee Member or volunteer at each meeting. All tickets have a fair and equal chance of winning but if you see someone winning lots of prizes at our regular meetings, it might mean that they have bought a high number of tickets. Do not despair, there is always next time!
- GOOD LUCK !!!
Lucky Postcard Draw Rules
At every LCC meeting, we hold a Lucky Postcard Draw with several winners winning a bundle of stamped postcards and envelopes.
- You can bring any number of stamped postcards or envelopes - there is no limit!
- Please ensure there is not too much advertising or printed matter on the postcard - ie there is still room for an entrant to write their name and address etc
- Please use new stamps - re-using stamps is a criminal offence in the UK and could prevent an entry from reaching its destination. As always, please follow the LCC Charter and show courtesy and respect to your fellow members. Anyone attempting to cheat the system with used stamps could risk embarrassment and their LCC subscription being terminated.
- For each stamped postcard or envelope, you will be given a pink raffle ticket for the draw. You do not need to write your name on the back of this ticket as we draw the winners randomly by number.
Entry Form Swap
Given the general lack of entry forms, the entry form table will be a free-for-all, although please try to leave enough forms for others who arrive later.
General Competition Rules
In the interest of absolute fairness no member can enter a competition that they may have had any involvement with, however slight. Any such entries will be disqualified.
All competitions compiled by individual committee members should be kept absolutely secret until the event to enable other committee members to enter. Any prior knowledge that could prove advantageous means that member would be ineligible to enter.
All competitions requiring judging should be judged anonymously..
